Bayshore Church is an Anabaptist community church that teaches, shares and does life together centered on Jesus in Sarasota, FL. We aim for Peace, Hospitality, Simplicity & Jesus as we walk together. If you are "in" Christianity, burned out on the church as you've known it, or simply curious, we would enjoy getting to know you - you are always welcome at Bayshore Church!
We value questioning with freedom as VITAL to authentic orthodox faith. This happens weekly in our home churches after our Sunday gatherings. We discern and wrestle with applying Scripture and the work of the Spirit from our large gatherings in our smaller gatherings where everyone's voice can be heard and life is lived together.
Want to chat with a pastor? Use our Contact form here!
Q&A SUNDAYS Once every three months we do a live Question and Answer (or comment and question) time during our live teaching portion. Anyone can write or text a question in. The respondents are the lead pastor/teaching pastor and a leadership team member or guest.
Each Bayshore Home Church has a Compassion Coordinator and together they choose local non-profits to serve at. We keep our church-wide compassion initiatives simple while encouraging our Home Churches to explore and serve in the areas they are passionate about. More impact, more people involved, more passion, less trumpeting in Sunday gatherings.
Relief Kits Needed
MCC is currently requesting donations of relief kits. Relief kits provide valuable supplies to families whose lives have been disrupted by war or disaster. This year, we are in need of 20,000 kits, almost 8,000 more than last year, to help meet the growing needs around the world, including our response to the Syrian refugee crisis. For more information, visit mcc.org/kits, or contact the Material Resources Center in Ephrata, PA, at (717) 733-2847 or EastCoastMRC@mcc.org.
Responding to Famine and Food Crisis
According to the United Nations, the world is facing the largest humanitarian crisis since World War II. More than 20 million people across Yemen, Somalia, South Sudan, and northeast Nigeria are facing or are at risk of famine. Mennonite Central Committee is working in some of these areas to provide emergency food assistance and to increase its response to the crisis. However, because of serious conflicts and concerns for safe, unimpeded access for humanitarian assistance, this process is slow and challenging. To donate to MCC’s relief fund, which supports MCC’s response to this disaster and others, visit mcc.org/learn/what/relief, call 1-888-563-4676, or send a check to MCC, PO Box 500, Akron, PA 17501-0500.
